How to sell more CDs

As an Independent Music Retailer we work very hard to get the word out about what we do. We truly believe in what we are doing just as you do. We have always been driven by the love of independent music. Our goal at Melodic Revolution is to support and promote any and all independent musicians.

We know and realize that the music market has changed over the years and is still changing. We at Melodic Revolution know that your music is every thing to you or you wouldn’t be in this business. That’s right you are in business just like a Home Builder or Clothing Designer. We know that first and foremost you do this for the love of the music as we do. That said your studio time practice time and gigs all cost money. So you can do one of three things to recoup some of that money. Sell the great music that you have created, be a T-shirt salesmen while you tour or sit back do nothing and hope that your CDs will sell.

That’s where we come in. Many of you sell your CDs thru many outlets like CD Baby, Smart Punk, Melodic Revolution a local CD store or maybe even thru your own site. Some of you only sell your CDs while you our out on the road. These are all great tools to make a few dollars. But is that really enough? We don’t think so. What we recommend is that you sell your product thru as many outlets as possible. This will give you more exposures. However just because your product is available at any of these places, it wont really do you much good unless you advertise it by posting links on all your websites and even flyers that you hand out at shows.

How many times have you gone to see a show to see a band and discovered a new band on the same bill, and you didn’t have enough money to buy one of their CDs but you would have bought one latter if you knew where to get one. The reason for links to all the sites is this. If we or anyone else stocks you’re CD and no one knows that any of us stocks your CD it will only collect dust. We have many different banners that you can use, so feel free to choose whichever one you like best.
